The latter I find very welcome, though not had chance to try it yet. Multiplayer provides local network and Hot Seat too. You can also experiment with game strategies with a multiplayer save in single player, by reloading it and then kicking off any human players (which are then replaced by AI). So, for example, two humans can play as one team, permanently allied against all other civs who are AI. But when I ran the game with DirectX12 instead of DirectX11 (which you can choose if you start the game from your Steam Library page), the problem disappeared. I did have a local issue at one point where the game froze when I swapped screen focus (I run Civ6 on one screen and Discord + browser on a second screen). Wonder movies are removed from multiplayer too: you just get a sound to annouce you've completed one.
Instead an icon pops up on the right and you have to click it to start the interaction.

They don't just appear full screen as they'd do with single player. You have to get used to a slightly different way of interacting with civs, human or AI. Not found any problems with several games all running into the 300s. Sometimes the multiplayer invitations (which we do through Steam, though you can do it in-game) don't "take" immediately, but once connected they're fine. Haven't found any major problems with it at all. Init: systemd runlevel: 5 Compilers: gcc: 9.3.0 Shell: bash v: 5.0.My friends and I find that multiplayer in Civ6 is far more reliable than Civ5. While its been a remarkably smooth launch for a big-name PC game, Civilization 6 has still had some minor.

I honestly have no idea how to approach this because I've never had a problem like this before. I can max things out in single player and have a buttery smooth experience, but even the minimum settings in multiplayer are unplayable. I get INSANELY different performance in civ 6 between multiplayer and single player, which doesn't make any sense to me.
